This is the best henna powder I ever used for my hair. I have 30% gray hair, my mother more than 50%, and this powder colored beautifully all grays. Wonderful color. I recommend it!

This is the only henna that I like to use in my hair regime. I love how it makes my hair feel so lush

A very fine sifted powder, with no clumps or grittiness. The colour produced is very bright and begins to stain skin almost immediately, a bright orange that darkens to very dark brown over time. Excellent product and good value too.

First time I used this brand, I used another one before but I can say Ayumi henna is superior quality. I mixed this with a few other ingredients such as lemon juice, some Ayumi amla powder, v strong black coffee, amla har oil and golden syrup so the henna sticks to my hair ( a little trick I figured out). I have quite a bit of grey hair at the front so really needed henna doing, so glad I tried this brand as result is good have full coverage ( looks like I have highlights) and it washed out nicely. It’s very henna coloured today but hoping it will get darker over the next few days. Only issue is despite using 200g henna it covered only half my head so I got to do the front and not the back half or my shoulder length pony tail so I will need to order quite. few packetsI think.

Finally a henna brand in the UK that actually works!!! I’ve tried Lush’s henna in the past and was terribly disappointed, not least because applying henna on the hair is quite cumbersome. So pleased that this has covered all my greys (copper tone) and has given my hair an overall beautiful sheen.

Can I use this henna if I am dying my hair with hair dye.

    star iconstar iconstar iconstar icon

    • Hannah Briggs

Henna is a natural pigment derived from the Henna plant, it grants a warm red-brunette tone. We would not recommend using it with other hair dyes as they’re both colourants.
Indigo powder gives a natural blue-black tone.
Neutral Henna is only conditioning and doesn’t contain colour.
For dying hair, the best Henna to use is our green bag (herbal Henna) which is Henna plus 9 conditioning plant extracts.

Can you use this Hannah after using hair colour dye.

star iconstar iconstar iconstar iconstar icon

    • Hannah

We would generally not recommend this as it is also a dye, it’s commonly used with other herbal dyes such as Indigo to get a brown-black, but we don’t know the colour results if used with a conventional hair dye so you may not achieve the desired results. If you’re looking for conditioning benefits, we’d recommend using neutral henna instead.

      I hope this helps!

  16. Mina vara

Do you think I should wait for 3/4 wks after using hair dye?

    star icon

    • Hannah

Hi there, providing there is no excess residue dye, you can start using Henna. We’d suggest there’s no need to wait more than 2-3 washes after using other hair dye.

  17. monica

I have dark brown hair, will this product be suitable for my hair?

star iconstar iconstar iconstar iconstar icon

    • Amber Khalid

Hi there Monica, Henna typically leaves an orange to dark reddish tint on the hair, so if you’re looking for red tones on your dark brown hair, we say go for it! If you’re looking to enhance your natural dark brown color, we suggest mixing henna and indigo powders to achieve brown to black tones instead.
